We invite you to join us for an evening of dialogue and performance featuring george emilio sanchez.
george emilio sanchez will present an in-person public talk and performance on indigenous sovereignty, revolving around the 200 year-old history of Supreme Court rulings that have diminished indigenous sovereignty, and including his own struggle with his indigenous identity while being raised in an Ecuadorian immigrant household. It will include parts of his solo performance work, In the Court of the Conqueror, for which he received a Masters in Legal Studies in Indigenous Peoples Law out of the University of Oklahoma as part of his artistic research. The performance is currently on tour in the U.S. and Canada.
