Assistant Professor Lisa Iglesias and Associate Professor Julia Morrisroe recently brought a large group of School of Art + Art History undergraduate and graduate students to Flying Horse Editions, a collaborative research studio for visual artists at the University of Central Florida in Orlando. UF alumna Ashley Taylor (MFA Printmaking '15) now works full-time with this prestigious non-profit publisher of limited-edition prints, artist books and art objects by internationally renowned artists.
“School of Art + Art History students learned about a variety of printmaking techniques, received information about different ways that art majors can find careers in diverse creative fields and got up close and personal with works on paper by artists such as Will Cotton, Jiha Moon, Chie Fueki and Luis Gispert, among others,” says Iglesias. “Many of our student participants are now interested in interning and revisiting this amazing press.”
