Music for Pre-Health Professions

Degrees Offered

Bachelor of Music (BM)
Combination with Outside Field

The Bachelor of Music in Combination with an Outside Field is designed for students who want to earn a degree in Music and also complete a significant amount of coursework in another academic field.
Students complete the core Music curriculum and can focus their general education and elective coursework on another field of their choice.

This flexibility offers Music students a number of options:

  1. Pursue a minor or undergraduate certificate.
  2. Complete coursework required or recommended for admission into professional and graduate programs. (Pre-Health/Pre-Professional)
  3. Pursue a second bachelor’s degree.
  4. Pursue a combination degree program where they can earn a bachelor’s and master’s degree in an accelerated timeframe.

As a student progresses through each semester, they will take an increasing number of courses in their outside field. The degree is designed so that all Music requirements are completed at the end of the third year of study — leaving the fourth year entirely open to complete general education and outside field courses.
