Hach Kii Juice

Research/Strategy

Having a Mayan name was important because it was beautiful to our partners in a poetic way — Hach Kii’ Ka’ab — and to translate into Spanish and English so people would learn Maya. Conversely, our partners would see how Maya translated into English. In using Maya for the name of the product, the language and therefore culture is elevated. The map reinforces this by positioning the partners in a certain location and calling attention to themselves and their town, just a short distance from the coast.

Outcomes

Orange juice bottle with three elements that are critical in representing identity in a responsible way: the name, map, and translations.
